Argentina and China reach a consensus on cooperation in fisheries and aquaculture

Argentine media ambito reported that on July 31, Argentine government departments of Fisheries and aquaculture held a virtual meeting with Chinese officials to exchange views on the cooperation between the two countries' fisheries and aquaculture industries.


Argentine officials said that the virtual conference was an important milestone for Argentine aquatic products to be further introduced to the Chinese market. Carlos Liberman, Secretary General of the Ministry of Fisheries and aquaculture of Argentina, Pablo Sivori, Secretary General of the Ministry of trade strategy and economic promotion, Guillermo abdala, director of the national aquaculture administration, and Sabino VacA, Argentine ambassador to China attended the meeting.


Liberman said: "among the proposals and themes discussed at the meeting, we emphasized the possibility of creating topics of knowledge exchange, technological innovation, infrastructure construction and aquaculture training. The Chinese Academy of Sciences and the national aquaculture administration of Argentina reached an important consensus."


Liberman said that this conference is a new measure to develop Argentina's national aquaculture production and commercialization cluster, plan the project design and adapt to all stages of the production chain, and take advantage of the huge competitive advantages provided by China.
