1. Excellent aeration effect. Microporous aeration tubes produce very small bubbles with an average diameter of about 3 mm, while conventional aerators produce bubbles of about 20 mm. For the same volume of air, the microporous tube gives the water 6-7 times more bubble contact area.
2. Energy saving. A conventional aerator adds about 1.1-1.9 kg of oxygen per kW, while a microporous tube adds 3.4-4.9 kg in freshwater and up to 9 kg in seawater - about 2.6 times a conventional aerator in freshwater and 4.2 times in seawater. A typical shrimp pond needs 0.75 kW per mu with a paddle-wheel aerator, but only 0.25 kW per mu with microporous tube aeration - a very real saving.
3. Lower feed conversion, higher yield. Shrimp ponds aerated by conventional aerators run a feed conversion ratio (FCR) of 1.1-1.3; ponds with bottom microporous aeration run 0.9-1.1, and average yield per mu rises by about 30%. Clean the microporous tubes regularly to slow clogging.
